Designer chosen haikus brought to life with animation and sound. Each designer was challenged to match the mood and tone of the writing while also pursuing their own interpretation. The resulting works are a dynamic mix of movement, rhythm, and typography.

This motion graphic introduces us into the world of After Effects through storyboarding, rough animation, JPEG sequencing, etc. This haiku by Matsuo Basho is brought to life through emptiness evolving into overwhelming chaos.Graphics are gentle and airy before the climax dissipates quickly alongside the music. This rendition of M83’s Solitude creates a haunting and growing fear of emptiness with an audial resolution.
