Houston FOod Bank

Designers updated the brand identity for the Houston Food Bank to reinvigorate the organization's aesthetic based on their mission and values. The newly designed brand guidelines were key in developing custom give-away products for specific audiences and generate enthusiasm for the organization. The applied branding and messaging is expanded further with several environmental designs for various spaces in the food bank’s facilities.

The redesign of the brand seeks to mimic community through a softer palette and slab serifs. This reminds viewers of farmers markets, another local community-based environment. While keeping some modern aspects of Houston Food Bank, this design revamps the look into a fun, cohesive brand for a group that always gives back to Houston.

This design focuses on replicating the high energy that the space encapsulates. The lobby is where the volunteer groups begin their shift, and are fired up by encouraging speeches and a welcoming atmosphere. The colors are a precursor to the fun energy that leaks from the main volunteering room with loud, upbeat music and the sounds of packing and productivity.
